Morning Tour Overview

Here is a tour that allows you to swim at the base of a waterfall without the worry of crocodiles, or having to spend a whole day getting there.

Heading off nice and early allows us plenty of time to enjoy the morning. First off is a drive up to Daintree Village where we will do a 1 hour river cruise. A completely different section of the Daintree River, where you will be taken out on an informative trip to view the beauty of this area and with the chance of spotting the wildlife (croc's among other things!) that call the river home.

After the cruise we will have a Traditional Devonshire tea, including beautiful scones, jam and cream, with the choice of Daintree Tea, coffee, flat white, cappuccino etc.

Then it is off to "River Home" Cattle Station where our off Road 4WD Land Rover awaits. Travel along the station tracks and through creeks in true "Safari" Style, to get close to our destination. The road ends at the beautiful Cassowary Falls.

This is a tranquil location with a fantastic swimming area right at the base of the falls. Plenty of time allowed for those memorable holiday snaps!

Here we have enough time to have a great swim and admire the scenery. For the non-swimmers, there is some lovely rainforest here, so exploring close by is an option.

A Bucket List Must  - Nothing beats standing under a waterfall.

Fantastic tour, highly recommended.  My husband and I loved it, as did our 17 and 15 year old kids.  The kids were not interested in going to the Daintree and they both said it was a highlight of our Port Douglas stay, better than the helicopter and jet skiing, and on par with the micro light flight.  Murray was our tour guide and he really made the trip, very passionate, interesting and delightfully entertaining.  The swim at Cassowary Falls is one of the best things you can do in the Daintree, and we loved the drive in the very old army truck across the little farm.

Afternoon Tour Overview

This is a great tour for those of you that only want to spend a half day out, short on time or even a nice sleep in while on holiday!

Two areas are visited on this trip, Daintree River, Mossman Gorge, plus afternoon tea in between.

We begin with a drive along the Captain Cook Highway passing Cane fields on the way to the Daintree River, with a little history along the way. Here we board a cruise along the tidal reaches of the Daintree River for an hour looking out for all manner of creatures, including the estuarine crocodile, snakes, birds, frogs and more.

From here we will head back down for afternoon tea at the Mossman Gorge Visitors Centre, feasting on Damper, accompanied by local honey, cream, together with your choice of coffees, teas, or soft drinks, before jumping onto a bus into the gorge itself.

Once in Mossman Gorge National Park, we will conduct an interpretive walk along an elevated boardwalk, so we can have a closer look at the Rainforest Canopy. Weather dependent a dip in the crystal clear rainforest stream which can be quite refreshing , whilst being surrounded by the beautiful and healing Mossman Gorge, rainforest.

What a memorable way to spend an afternoon!
